The Vice President of Retail Sales will play a pivotal role in shaping our company’s future by developing and executing dynamic national retail sales strategies that not only meet but exceed our ambitious business objectives. This position focuses on inspiring and guiding the sales team to reach new heights, driving sustainable sales growth through lead generation and engaging customer expansion strategies while fostering a culture of excellence among regional sales management. Furthermore, the VP, Retail Sales will oversee and optimize sales execution as a whole throughout the advisor distribution network, unlocking potential and driving impactful results within this vital insurance and wealth distribution channel.

How you will create impact :


  • Crafting and executing dynamic national retail sales strategies to drive company success and achieve ambitious goals. Including collaborating closely with senior leadership to ensure that our sales initiatives align seamlessly with our broader business vision.
  • Ensuring performance in all our retail sales lines of business and that the results meet and exceed the annual financial plans for Retail Sales and Co-operators Group Limited
  • Establishing and analyzing national sales analytics, metrics, KPIs, and forecasts to celebrate our wins and uncover exciting growth opportunities.
  • Overseeing the process for sales forecasting, lead generation, and innovative cross-selling and upselling strategies that boost our bottom line.
  • Paving the way for a thriving market presence through leading the development of creative approaches to generate fresh leads and expand our customer base.
  • Overseeing regional sales activities and performance to maintain consistent and quality sales practices at a national level.
  • Managing regional sales networks, while taking full responsibility for the success of each advisor throughout the country.
  • Ensuring consistent sales workflows and best practices are followed across all regions.
  • Inspiring and motivating your leadership team to define and execute strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing leadership talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, diverse, and agile culture.

  • You foster sustainable relationships with stakeholders to identify strategies, explore broader solutions and collaboratively resolve contentious issues.

  • You role model the co-operative values, encourage the development of your leaders and build high performing teams to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • You are integral in identifying and implementing the long-term vision for the organization and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business priorities based on emerging trends.

To join our team :


  • You have 10+ years of progress-related experience in the financial services or insurance industry, with a focus on advisor distribution sales strategies, process and best practices.
  • You have completed a degree.
  • Pursuing or having completed industry certifications such as Certified Sales Leader (CSL), Certified Sales Professional (CSP)or similar is an asset.
  • You are experienced in leading insurance or wealth regional sales managers / distribution leader to drive high performance. Including experience contributing to the development and implementation of comprehensive sales strategies.
  • You have proficiency in utilizing data and analytics to drive decision-making and optimize sales performance.
  • You are an experienced people leader, well-skilled in leading and influencing leaders and teams on a national level that have successfully achieved goals and held high engagement.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
