<p><b>Critical Environment Data Center Technician (Electrical)</b></p><p><br></p><p>Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a <b>Critical Environment Data Center Technician</b> to join our client, a multinational technology corporation.</p><p><b>Client:</b> Multinational technology corporation</p><p><b>Terms: </b>5-month contract (expected extension up to a total of 18 months)</p><p><b>Location:</b> Greater Toronto Area - On Site</p><p><br></p><p><b>Responsibilities:</b></p><p> Provide escort support for third-party contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers on site.</p><p> Perform assigned tasks with supervision, including making rounds and conducting initial assessments of equipment performance.</p><p> Monitor the performance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center under supervision.</p><p> Assist safely with emergency monitoring and response to abnormal conditions using Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).</p><p> Adhere to all safety procedures and comply with physical security policies while performing work.</p><p> Take daily operational readings of electrical equipment through routine rounds and log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).</p><p> Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for planned work in critical environments.</p><p> Energize a cabinet in a colocation environment.</p><p> Perform quarterly and annual preventative maintenance on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.</p><p> Conduct preventative maintenance on system control panels and batteries.</p><p> Maintain a fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code.</p><p> Assist with troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing instrument sensors and performing calibration tasks.</p><p> Support electrical infrastructure across the data center campus, ranging from large capacity facilities to smaller sites.</p><p> Utilize Building Management Systems (EPMS).</p><p> Perform Remote Power Panel (RPP) shutdowns of one source (critical load remains supplied through the "N" source).</p><p> Conduct PDU shutdowns for power meter replacements.</p><p> Support Power Interruption Testing (PIT).</p><p> Assist with master controller shutdowns or replacements.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>Required qualifications:</b></p><p> 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g., automotive, electrical, controls, data center).</p><p> Previous data center experience.</p><p> OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E certification.</p><p> Experience with electrical systems in high availability assembly, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments (e.g., data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing).</p><p> High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.</p><p> Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and 3 , 4 , or 5-day work weeks.</p><p> Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>Interview Process</b></p><p> One interview with the Hiring Manager (1 hour duration)</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Pay Range: $30-45/hr</p><p></p>Create Your Resume First
