<p><b>Role:</b> Heavy Equipment Technician</p><p><br></p><p><b>Location:</b> Mississauga, ON</p><p><b>Job Type:</b> Full-Time</p><p><b>Hours:</b> 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday) + overtime as required</p><p><br></p><p><b>Job Summary:</b></p><p>Amaco Construction Equipment is seeking a skilled and self-motivated <b>Heavy Equipment Technician</b> to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty construction and municipal equipment-both in-shop and in the field when needed. This role demands strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise, a commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills.</p><p><b>Compensation:</b></p><ul><li>$40-$47 an hour (starting salary and have flexibility depending on your background/experience)</li><li>Overtime opportunities available</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Benefits:</b></p><ul><li>Comprehensive health and dental benefits</li><li>Continuous technical training on equipment brands (CAN/US)</li><li>Opportunities for professional development and certification</li><li>Safety-first work environment with room for career growth</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Job Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipment</li><li>Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections, especially on rental units</li><li>Assist with field service calls and conduct on-road repairs as required</li><li>Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure successful post-repair testing</li><li>Complete daily service reports, warranty paperwork, and documentation accurately</li><li>Perform welding repairs as needed</li><li>Comply with all safety procedures and report any unsafe work conditions or incidents</li><li>Stay current with technical advancements through regular training sessions</li><li>Travel as required and be able to work independently in remote or fast-paced environments</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Valid <b>421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician License </b>(required)</li></ul><p><b>- OR -</b></p><ul><li>Valid <b>310T Truck and Coach Technician License </b>(required)</li></ul><p><b>- OR -</b></p><ul><li>Completion of all required schooling and currently eligible to write the certification exam (required)</li><li>Minimum 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (for licensed technicians)</li><li>Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills</li><li>Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components</li><li>Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics</li><li>Valid driver's license with a clean abstract; D/Z license is an asset</li><li>Physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs</li><li>Proficiency with computer-based diagnostics and service documentation</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills</li><li>Safety-focused, dependable, and self-driven</li><li><b>Preferred:</b> Experience with crusher/screening equipment</li><li><b>Assets:</b> Overhead crane certification, forklift, working at heights, and First Aid certification</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>The role is an actual open position</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Amaco represents a specialized group of manufacturers serving the <b>municipal, road building, paving, aggregate, and industrial</b> sectors.
