Unionville Home Society and its affiliate corporations operate a long-term care home, seniors' housing, a seniors' active living center, an adult day program, and geriatric outreach services. For our staff, the UHS experience is based on our 5 pillars of connecting communities, advancing quality and innovation, caring genuinely and passionately, respecting each person, and serving with integrity and commitment.</p><p>Position</p><p><em>Brief Summary:</em> The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) plays a pivotal role in the delivery of resident-centered care within our long-term care home. The RPN is responsible for the delivery of daily resident care and resident safety and is as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.</p><p>Essential Job Functions (point form):</p><p><br>•Complete individual resident assessments to develop the Resident Care Plan. Evaluate and update plans as required</p><p><br>•Observe, measure, document and report vital signs and changes in the resident's physical, mental and/or emotional condition</p><p><br>•Give direction to Personal Support Workers (PSW) pertaining to resident care issues on the Unit in collaboration with the Nurse Manager</p><p>Qualifications</p><p>Required Education:</p><p><br>•Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required</p><p><br>•Registered Practical Nurse (in good standing) with the College of Nurses of Ontario</p><p>Experience:</p><p><br>•Six months to one-year experience in a Long-Term Care setting is considered an asset</p><p>Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p><p><br>•Organizational skills to manage timetables and responsibilities</p><p><br>•Ability to exercise good judgment, tact and diplomacy</p><p><br>•Empathetic attitude and desire to contribute towards the well-being of seniors</p><p><br>•Written and verbal communication skills related to the position</p><p><br>•Good interpersonal skills</p><p><br>•Ability to work independently and with others including team members, residents, families, volunteers and other employees</p><p>Interested candidates should email a cover letter and resume indicating "RPN" in the subject line to: </p><p><em>We appreciate the interest of all applicants however it is our practice to contact ONLY those candidates who are chosen to proceed to the interview and selection process.
