<p><p><b>Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller– 4+ Weeks</b></p></p> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>Contract</p> <p>Location</p> <p>TORONTO, Ontario</p> Apply SHARE THIS JOB <br/> <p><p><b>Job Description:</b></p></p> <p>You will be a core member of the funds finance team responsible for accurate, timely NAV and investor reporting, supporting capital activity, audits and tax deliverables, valuations, and continuous improvement of processes and controls.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities: </b></p>
<li>Prepare and review monthly/quarterly NAV packages, including valuations, accruals, and fee calculations.</li>
<li>Draft quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS, coordinating with fund administrators and auditors.</li>
<li>Manage capital activity (subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions).</li>
<li>Maintain investor registers, process allocations, and reconcile cash/positions.</li>
<li>Support asset valuation processes with data packs and variance analyses.</li>
<li>Prepare fund-level budgets and forecasts; monitor expenses and fee true-ups.</li>
<li>Lead audit and tax processes, including PBC compilation and liaison with external advisors.</li>
<li>Develop SOPs, checklists, and internal controls; contribute to automation initiatives.</li>
<li>Work closely with capital markets and investor relations teams on reporting and ad hoc data requests.</li> <p>TMGCT</p> <p><p><b>Job Requirements:</b></p></p> <li>3+ years of progressive fund accounting experience within private equity/alternative investments OR if Assistant Controller, need 5–7+ years of fund accounting and reporting experience in private equity/alternatives, including review responsibilities and oversight of junior staff or administrators.</li>
<li>Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance; CPA in progress or completed preferred.</li>
<li>Hands-on NAV experience, investor allocations/series, subscriptions & redemptions, capital calls/distributions, and fee/waterfall mechanics.</li>
<li>Great attention to detail, a self-starter and a problem solver.</li>
<li>Strong Excel skills; experience with Yardi or similar platforms is an asset.</li>
<li>Detail orientation with a control mindset; able to manage multiple deadlines and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.</li> Apply
