<p><b>Position Summary</b></p>
<p>As an integral member of the Toronto General Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy Services Team, the Allied Health Student will partner with cashiers, pharmacists, technicians, and medication reimbursement specialists to provide pharmacy operations support to patients at Toronto General Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy. Opportunity to participate in pharmacy department educational rounds, teaching sessions, peer teaching and learning also exists.</p>
<h3>Duties</h3>
<ul>
<li>Cover cashier, package medication deliveries, and handle electronic/paper filing and retrieval responsibilities</li>
<li>Enter clinical research data into online databases</li>
<li>Organize, store, and track material</li>
<li>Keep inventory of office resources (computers, etc.)</li>
<li>Perform cross-functional responsibilities, as assigned</li>
<li>Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>A keen interest and enthusiasm for hospital pharmacy practice</li>
<li>2nd year student majoring in a health or science-related field</li>
<li>Attention to detail in work</li>
<li>General computer savvy (knowledge of common shortcuts, entering web-based forms efficiently)</li>
<li>Understanding of some medical terminology</li>
<li>Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards</li>
<li>Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, sorting, etc.)</li>
<li>Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word (formatting, find and replace, template design, etc.)</li>
<li>Knowledge of general office practice, procedures and standards</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (especially phone and email)</li>
<li>Excellent organization and time management skills</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize workload</li>
<li>Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks</li>
<li>Ability to complete new tasks and pick up new skills easily</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively under pressure</li>
<li>Previous hospital or community pharmacy experience is an asset</li>
</ul>
