<p><p>Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruiting Division is working with an established and innovative manufacturer of specialized lifting equipment on their search for a <b>Structural Engineer (P.Eng)</b> to join their growing team. With operations spanning North America, this company designs and builds custom-engineered solutions for construction, industrial, and infrastructure applications.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead the structural engineering process from concept design through to production-level drawings.</li>
<li>Perform structural calculations, including static analysis, connection details, and manufacturability considerations.</li>
<li>Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.</li>
<li>Verify structural adequacy, review shop drawings, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.</li>
<li>Support project managers by aligning designs with project goals and budgets.</li>
<li>Provide technical guidance during proposal and estimation phases to optimize product design and cost efficiency.</li>
<li>Mentor junior engineers, technologists, and student interns while supporting field installation teams.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li><b>10+ years</b> of structural engineering experience, preferably in custom engineering or industrial machine design.</li>
<li><b>P.Eng designation (Ontario)</b> is required.</li>
<li>Strong background in <b>structural aluminum and steel</b> design; experience with concrete structures is a plus.</li>
<li>Expertise in ANSI/AISC A360, CSA S16, CSA S157, and welding codes (AWS D1.1/D1.2, CSA W47/59).</li>
<li>Proficiency in <b>AutoCAD, structural engineering software (STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D), and MS Office</b>.</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to optimize structures for weight, strength, and specifications.</li>
<li>Ability to perform hand calculations and use tools like Mathcad and Excel.</li>
<li>Prior experience in <b>construction, manufacturing, or large infrastructure projects</b> is beneficial.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.</li>
